Blue Lounge – Tower Room

Claire will introduce you to Marty and his world of Little Ditch, sharing a lively read-along and drawing characters live throughout the session. Together, you’ll create a brand-new character before Claire guides the children, step by step, to draw Marty themselves. The session will end with a playful Post Office Quiz — see if you’ve got what it takes to become a fully-fledged Post Mouse!

Claire was born and raised on the Wirral, arriving in Wallasey more years ago than she cares to admit!

A self-taught illustrator, she began illustrating children’s books at the ripe old age of 37 and hasn’t looked back since. In the last decade she has illustrated over forty books, from classics such as Pride and Prejudice to War-Time Tails by Dermot O’Leary and picture books like Octopants and The Night Before the Night Before Christmas.

Her illustrations for The Swifts earned her the title of New York Times bestselling illustrator, and her debut author series, Marty Moose, has been published to critical acclaim.
