Accessibility

The Floral Pavilion prides itself on being a welcoming and accessible venue for all its visitors.

We believe that everyone has the right to access quality entertainment, and we have a number of services which make our events accessible to everyone. We will make reasonable adjustments wherever possible to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable experience.

Our facilities include flat-floor access to the front of the of the building, designated parking/Blue Badge parking spaces immediately outside the building, accessible toilets, a lift to the Plaza and Panoramic Lounges, an infra-red loop system, wheelchair spaces in the auditorium and access to a limited number of free essential companion tickets.

There are a number of disabled parking spaces near to the entrance of the theatre.

Booking Information

Wheelchair Spaces
We have a number of wheelchair spaces available on Row R at every performance. These must be booked through the box office either in person or by phone on 0151 666 0000. When booking one of these spaces please specify the dimensions of the wheelchair.

Essential Companion Tickets
We have a limited number of free essential companion seats available at each performance. These must be booked through the box office.

Assistant Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome. Please contact our box office to ensure your seat has suitable space for your dog. Please also check the show information for any trigger warnings.

Sennheiser Infrared Loop System

The Floral Pavilion provides a hearing enhancement system for those who are hard of hearing. The Sennheiser infrared system is a wireless, interference-free secure assistive listening and interpretation for theatre use.

You do not need to book in advance, just go to the box office on arrival and request a headset.

Photosensitivity and Respiratory Conditions

For performances containing strobe lighting, flashing lights, pyrotechnics, haze/smoke and/or loud bangs and explosions, a notice will be displayed on the door to the auditorium. If this is a concern, please speak to our duty manager on arrival.

Food & Drink

The venue has a ground floor café accessible to wheelchair users, plus an accessible toilet. The Plaza Bar on the first floor, accessible via the lift, is wheelchair accessible.

Accessible Toilets

Unisex wheelchair-accessible toilets are located on the ground floor in the Floral Café area, with two further toilets available on the Plaza Lounge, which is accessible via the lift.

Evacuation

In case of an emergency, we ask that wheelchair users wait to exit the building under the direction of our front of house staff.

Relaxed Performances

We have a number of relaxed performance available in the theatre. Relaxed performances are designed for people who may find visiting a theatre uncomfortable or unsettling. The relaxed performance is suited to anyone who would like to enjoy a show in a less formal manner, especially those on the autistic spectrum, those who may make involuntary sounds, people with dementia and people with special educational needs.

Depending on the show, slight changes are made to the performance although the content will not change. Loud noises or explosions are taken out or reduced. The audience are free to move around the auditorium and to come and go as needed. The adapted environment and our attentive and trained staff will help ensure a magical experience for all.

Beach Wheelchairs

The beach wheelchairs are to help people with mobility and physical disabilities access the beach and coastal area of New Brighton. Users of the chairs will require assistance from a friend, family member or support worker.

There are three difference types of chairs available:

  • Sand Cruiser – push assisted
  • Hippocampe – push assisted
  • Extreme X8 All Terrain – electric powered

All chairs that are available to hire and are equipped with support straps, cushions, and harnesses. Any additional support or accessories needed to use the chairs will need to be brought by the user.
