The Adventures of The Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen

Tuesday 26th October 2021, 7:30pm
Rescheduled from Mon 17th May 2021

All Seats £20.25

In this frank, funny and informative new show, Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen shares heart-warming tales and honest anecdotes from her remarkable farming, family life in North Yorkshire. It's a life that has almost gone in today's modern world, one ruled by animals and the four seasons.

We’ll hear how Amanda grew up in Huddersfield, but was inspired by James Herriot’s books to leave her town life behind and head to the countryside. After working as a freelance dairy milker and alpaca shearer, she eventually settled down as a shepherdess at Ravenseat, one of the highest and most remote places in England, where she’s raised a flock of 1000 sheep and a family of 9 children with husband Clive.

Accompanied by some of Amanda's wonderful photography we’ll experience the highs and lows of the farming year, which in 2018 included the extremes of the Beast from the East and one of the hottest summers on record. Ravenseat is a tenant farm and may not stay in the family, so when Amanda saw a nearby farmhouse up for sale, she knew it was her chance to create roots for the next generation. The old house needed a lot of renovation and money was tight, but with her usual resourcefulness Amanda set about the work herself, with some help from the family, a visiting plumber and a travelling monk. It's fair to say things did not go according to plan.

We’ll hear how Amanda juggles life as a shepherdess, home renovator and mother to 9 children, with life as a best-selling author and being taken to the nation’s hearts with the Channel 5 hit series ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’. Funny, charming and filled with unforgettable characters, ‘Adventures of the Yorkshire Shepherdess' will delight anyone who has dreamt of a new life in the country.

Dr Richard Shepherd ‘Unnatural Causes’

Not for the faint hearted!

Meet the forensic pathologist, Dr Richard Shepherd. A detective in his own right, who has solved the mystery of sudden and unexplained deaths as he takes to the road in his first ever theatre tour. He has performed over 23,000 autopsies, including some of the most high-profile cases of recent times; the Hungerford Massacre, the Princess Diana inquiry, and 9/11. He has faced serial killers, natural disaster, 'perfect murders' and freak accidents. His evidence has put killers behind bars, freed the innocent, and turned open-and-shut cases on their heads. Yet all this has come at a huge personal cost. Join Dr Richard Shepherd for an evening which promise to be utterly fascinating. ‘Unnatural Causes’ will tell the story of not only the cases and bodies that have haunted Doctor Shepherd the most, but also how to live a life steeped in death.

Clinton Baptiste goes Stratospheric!
Sunday 31st October 2021, 7:30pm
All Tickets £23.25
Over 14s only

From Bolton via Vegas... to the stars!

Following the massive success of his last UK tour, clairvoyant medium and psychic Clinton Baptiste has gone exploring, stateside.

Not quite Caesar’s Palace but a series of shows in Vegas have lifted his celebrity status up a notch. Let him take you on a journey from his humble roots via the dazzling heights of Sin City...
...and on to an amazing finale that will heal the world.

Viva Las Vegas... Viva Clinton!

Clinton Baptiste is the hapless, unsubtle psychic from Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights. Following his sell out tour of 2019-20 "The Paranormalist Returns", Clinton has taken a whirlwind tour of the US. Hear his tales of rubbing shoulders with the hippy dippy new-agers from La La Land and how he hits the big time in Vegas with his lavish psychic show. For a while things couldn’t be better. A new lease of life, new teeth, new hair and a buttock lift. (Both of them.) But a humbly spiritual man at heart, Clinton realises that sometimes all that glitters ain’t gold and now returns to you, his beloved British audience to once again conjure up those pure selfless gifts he was born with.

For tonight, ladies and gentlemen, Clinton will all cast fame and fortune aside... and heal the world!

"From the moment Lowe dances onto the stage the audience absolutely loves his show." BRUCE DESSAU

Intriguingly, while “Hippy Hippy Shake” sounds rather Beatles-clone like, The Beatles did in fact do a cover version of this song for the BBC. The beat group had a three year spell of moderate success, flying along with the all-pervading Merseybeat success story.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes - Living Dangerously
Wednesday 24th November 2021, 7:30pm
Rescheduled from Tue 11th May 2021

Front Stalls £34.25
Rear Stalls £31.75

Named by the Guinness Book of Records as 'the world’s greatest living explorer', Sir Ranulph Fiennes has spent his life in pursuit of extreme adventure, risking life and limb in some of the most ambitious private expeditions ever undertaken.

Amongst his many record-breaking achievements, he was the first to reach both Poles, the first to cross the Antarctic and Arctic Ocean, and the first to circumnavigate the world along its polar axis.

In Living Dangerously, Sir Ranulph offers a personal journey through his life, from his early years to the present day. Both light-hearted and strikingly poignant, Living Dangerously spans Sir Ranulph’s childhood and school misdemeanours, his army life and early expeditions, right through the Transglobe Expedition to his current Global Reach Challenge - his goal to become the first person in the world to cross both polar ice caps and climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes' many endeavours have pushed his endurance levels to the very limits, inspiring generations and making him a pioneer of exploration with an unparalleled story to tell.

UPDATE 10th August 2021

With the rate of COVID-19 still remaining high in Wirral, the decision has been taken to cancel all shows and performances at the Floral Pavilion Theatre for the month of September.

The decision has had to be made this early in August to allow the Floral Pavilion to contact ticket holders, show producers and promoters in appropriate time.

Although COVID-19 case numbers have been dropping in recent days, the overall number is still high so with public and staff safety in mind, it is safer to keep the Floral Pavilion closed to full capacity shows for at least another month. The position is reviewed every week, with a further decision being made in four weeks.

Opening the auditorium doors and getting back to the business the venue does so well cannot come soon enough – but the health and the safety of the public and staff must be the first priority.

Staff at the theatre will be contacting producers and promoters to discuss the possibility of re-scheduling all planned performances. The theatre will contact all customers who have purchased tickets for an event directly affected, with updates. Please do not call the box office.

UPDATE 20th July 2021

Shows and performances scheduled to take place at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion Theatre between now and the end of August will not now take place due to rising rates of COVID-19 infections in Wirral.

Wirral’s infection rate is currently the highest in the Liverpool City Region with an average of 236 new cases every day. The theatre also has a number of employees currently in isolation due to either testing positive for COVID-19 or through close contact tracing.

This means that despite the national relaxation of COVID-19 regulations that took effect today, the decision has been taken to cancel scheduled shows at the Floral Pavilion on public health and protection grounds until August 31st.

Staff at the theatre will be contacting producers and promoters to discuss the possible re-scheduling of some planned performances. The theatre will contact everyone who has purchased tickets for an affected event directly with updates, please do not call the box office in the meantime.

UPDATE 16th June 2021

Floral Pavilion Café is open for indoor diners now that restricntions have been lifted, we hope to see you soon!

UPDATE: TUESDAY 17 MARCH

Floral Pavilion Theatre to close temporarily

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Monday 16 March, advising people to avoid non-essential contact with others including visits to theatres as part of measures to tackle the coronavirus, the Floral Pavilion theatre is to be closed with immediate effect from today, Tuesday March 17.

The temporary closure of the theatre in New Brighton is part of the Council’s wider preparations to focus resources and staff on to the most critical services relied upon by residents.

Please can we ask that you not contact the box office regarding tickets you may have purchased. We will contact customers with information regarding all performances in the coming weeks. Hopefully the majority of performances will be rescheduled but where this is not possible we will be organising a full refund.

Cabinet member for community services, Cllr Julie McManus, said:

“It is crucial that we ensure our most vital services are able to continue, and this is one of the first steps we will be taking.

"The coming weeks and months are going to be difficult for everyone, and we are all going to have to work in different ways and adapt. We are also going to have to take into account the likelihood that many staff will be affected by the virus either directly or having to self isolate because a family members is showing symptoms.

"We apologise for the disruption and uncertainty but the health and safety of our audiences, staff and visiting companies is our first priority. We will be posting further statements over the coming days so please check our website and social media as we are unsure how long these measures will need to last.

"Thank you for your support during this difficult time and we will update you when further information is available to us."

UPDATE 26th February 2021

We are currently reviewing the roadmap leading to the reopening of theatres and hospitality set out in the latest government guidance. Please bear with us as we begin conversations with visiting companies due to perform over the coming months. As soon as we have further information, we will share this on our social channels, newsletter and website and be in touch with any ticket holders of affected shows by email. You can view the latest guidance here.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Floral Pavilion soon!

UPDATE: FRIDAY 27th MARCH

We hope you understand that the unprecedented nature of the current situation and the volume of customer enquiries we are receiving mean we are not able to respond to your queries as quickly as we would normally be able to do.

The Floral Pavilion is temporarily closed and we have now taken the decision to close our box office phone. This means we are only able to respond to queries sent to the email address floralboxoffice@wirral.gov.uk. We are answering emails in the order in which they are received so there may be some delay in responding to individual queries but please rest assured that we are working hard to resolve things as quickly as we can. Bootleg Blondie

Thursday 9th December 2021, 8:00pm
Rescheduled from Fri 21st May 2021

All Seats £18.00

BOOTLEG BLONDIE is the world’s No.1 official Debbie Harry & Blondie tribute band

Established in 2001 this band are the only Blondie tribute to play the legendary CBGB in New York City before it's demise in 2006 and unique in that not only have they had the honour to be thanked on Blondie’s 11th album Pollinator but have actually played not one but two tours in the UK with Blondie’s legendary drummer Clem Burke, under the band name CBBB (Clem Burke & Bootleg Blondie).

Debbie and the boys have met the REAL Blondie many times. Debbie Harry wished them good luck with their show for their gig at CBGB NYC back in 2006 and when Andy and Debbie got married they received two video messages from both Blondie and Debbie Harry herself congratulating them on their wedding day. What a Blondietastic wedding present!

Debbie Harris, lead vocalist of Bootleg Blondie, has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blondie bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage. She has been known to wear dustbin liners, thigh length boots and t-shirts with more holes than t-shirt!  Debbie's pride and joy is her guitar which she plays at every show and is signed by all the Blondie band members. She appeared recently in the Mail On Sunday EVENT Magazine and performed on two shows for BBC1 when she was picked out of 15,000 applicants to represent Debbie Harry on ‘Even Better Than The Real Thing’ hosted by Paddy McGuinness which attracted an audience of 10 million viewers!

Lloyd Cole: From Rattlesnakes to Guesswork tour

Tuesday 8th February 2022, 7:30pm
All Tickets £29.25

Lloyd Cole brings his latest tour From Rattlesnakes to Guesswork to New Brighton.

In 1990 Lloyd launched a solo career and has been making albums ever since. In the early 2000s Cole retreated somewhat from rock/pop, performing mostly acoustically, but his 2013 album Standards took fans, critics, and maybe even the artist himself, aback with its brash electric rock ‘n’ roll sound.

This show will present music from Lloyd’s back catalogue, starting with Rattlesnakes in 1984, right up to his latest album Guesswork.

His latest album, Guesswork, mirrors the uncertainty of the world as you enter your third act and is consistent with a record whose protagonists seem reluctant to venture confidently beyond the moment.

Wilko Johnson Band plus Special Guest John Otway
Thursday 10th February 2022, 8:00pm
Rescheduled from Thu 25th Feb 2021
Tickets £34.25

Following a remarkable recovery from a diagnosis of terminal cancer, Wilko Johnson the original Dr Feelgood guitarist, actor (Game of Thrones character Ser Ilyn Payne) and all round national treasure has enjoyed a rousing return to the live arena, including a number 1 album with Roger Daltrey (Going Back Home), a sold out show at The Royal Albert Hall to mark his 70th birthday and, most recently, the release of Blow Your Mind, his first album of new material in decades.

Wilko is famed for his blistering chop-chord strumming action (the 'stab', as he describes it), a technique inspired by his admiration of the late Pirates guitarist Mick Green. With this electrifying sound, his trademark black-suited, scowling look and his characteristic strut, Wilko became one of the guitar heroes of the 1970s and beyond, not to mention on of rock 'n' roll's most extraordinary characters. He, alongside his original Feelgood bandmates, is also widely acknowledged as a forefather of punk on both sides of the Atlantic, fans ranging from Joe Strummer to Blondie.

Following a stint with Ian Dury & The Blockheads in the 1980s, he formed the Wilko Johnson Band, with Blockheads bassist Norman Watt-Roy. Featuring former Blockhead Dylan Howe on drums, the trio is known as one of the most exciting R'n'B bands in the world today.

Special guest 'Rock and Roll's Greatest Failure John Otway.

From their first Evening With Aggers and Tuffers in 2016, they were an immediate hit with cricket fans and non-lovers of the game alike and have gone on to sell out theatres all over the country.
Tuffers was the bad boy of English cricket in the 1990s, but the best spinner - left-arm or otherwise - as well. Known as The Cat because of his love of dressing-room naps and, rarely seen without a beer and a fag, Tufnell has always been something of a folk hero. Since retiring, he has carved out a successful TV career, appearing in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, The Jump, Strictly Come Dancing and he was Matt Dawson’s opposing team captain in BBC’s long-running series, A Question of Sport.
This is a fascinating, entertaining, no-holds-barred evening and you can tweet Aggers with your own questions. This is the ideal present for the sports lover in your life.
The event is raising money for The Professional Cricketers’ Trust.

Bram Stoker’s
Dracula

Adapted and Performed by James Gaddas
Directed by Pip Minnithorpe
Original Music by Jeremy Swift
Illusion Design by John Bulleid
Movement by Deborah Radin

ONE MAN’S SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH…

The most famous Gothic horror story of all time.

Few stories capture the imagination more powerfully than Dracula.

But when James Gaddas (Bad Girls, Coronation Street, Medics) comes across Bram Stoker’s original handwritten copy while working on a satellite channel TV show, what he reads chills him to the bone.

From strange encounters in the Count’s castle in Transylvania, to his ghostly arrival on a ship of death off the coast of Whitby, through midnight seductions and a heroic pursuit across Europe, racing against the setting of the sun – all have served to thrill and excite readers in equal measure.

But this copy contains pages never actually published and leads him to a terrifying discovery.

What if everything we thought we knew – was just the beginning?
What if it’s not a story – but a warning!
What if the legend – is real!

Gaddas brings the original version to life – before sharing his discovery in this electrifying stage show.

One actor, fifteen characters –
One monumental decision -
Are some things – better left buried?!

Interactive Theatre's globetrotting show is truly quite legendary, selling out at venues like Edinburgh Fringe, Raffles Singapore and Sydney Opera House. It returns to the Floral Pavilion in 2022, but be warned: it'll sell out here too, so early booking is essential!

When the audience become diners in the ‘Faulty Towers’ restaurant and are served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, pretty much anything can happen – especially with two-thirds of the show improvised.

The fun starts as guests wait to be seated, then hurtles along in a tour de force of gags, shambolic service and a ‘70s-style 3-course meal. Expect the unexpected in this ‘two-hour eat, drink and laugh sensation!’ (Daily Telegraph).

Born in 1997, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience is a fully immersive, highly improvised and site-specific piece of comedy theatre that continues to be acclaimed around the world by audiences and critics alike. It opened a residency in London’s West End in 2012 and continues there still, ranking consistently high in TripAdvisor’s top London theatre listings.Ten teams of cast now tour the world virtually non-stop.

Nathan Carter & His Band (plus support)

Wednesday 9th March 2022, 7.30pm
All seats £32.75

Nathan Carter is a sensation! In Ireland he outsold One Direction, Pharrell Williams and Michael Buble, and became the first country act to reach number one in the Irish charts in 2013 after Garth Brooks, six years before.

He is an exciting feature on the UK Country scene, and once again tops the Irish charts with his fifth album ‘Where I Wanna Be’ which features his unique blend of Celtic, country and pop! Not bad for the cherubic former head choir boy who sang for Pope John Paul ll in Rome.

Nathan was born on 28th May 1990, growing up in Liverpool. His family originate from Newry in County Down.He soon leaned to play the accordion and trips to Ireland to compete in Fleadh Ceoil’s became a regular feature of young Nathan’s life, and by the age of 12 he won All Ireland medals for singing, and the accordion. Nathan soon became a member of the Liverpool Ceili band, playing accordion and piano, and solo performances soon followed in Liverpool and Ireland.

On a trip to Donegal in 2009, Nathan was appearing in concert in Buncrana, where he met with songwriter John Farry. So impressed was Farry that representation soon followed and the rest, as they say, is history.

Nathan’s recordings include WHERE I WANNA BE (no. 1), BEAUTIFUL LIFE (no. 1), ‘STAYIN’ UP ALL NIGHT’ which topped the Irish chart and reached the top 20 in the UK. THE WAY THAT YOU LOVE ME, TIME OF MY LIFE, THE LIVE SHOW, Audio CD & DVD. WAGON WHEEL CD, which saw him sign with Decca Records. The video single to ‘Wagon Wheel’, has generated more than a million hits on YouTube.

His television appearances include Lorraine, ITV; Sky News, `The Late Late Show’, RTE; BBC The Nolan Show’ `UTV LIVE’, TG4s `GLOR TIRE`, `OPRY AN IUR`, and recently a cameo appearance in the popular Irish Soap ROS NA RUN on TG4 Television.

His self titled 5 episode show saw him perform with KT Tunstall, Finbar Fury, Paddy Casey, Mary Black, The Shires and Billy Ocean to an audience in excess of 2.5 million viewers.

Thursday 10th March 2022, 7:30pm
Rescheduled from Sat 6th March 2021
Tickets from £29.25 to £39.25

If you like guitar playing, it simply doesn’t get any better than Tommy Emmanuel.

Tommy has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. Or at least they would if he was the kind of artist who was ever satisfied. At the age of six, he was touring regional Australia with his family band. By 30, he was a rock n’ roll lead guitarist burning up stadiums in Europe. At 44, he became one of five people ever named a Certified Guitar Player by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins. Today, he plays hundreds of sold-out shows every year from Nashville to Sydney to London. While thousands of fans have spent years trying to unpack and imitate Tommy’s technique, for him it’s just the delivery system. His approach is always song and emotion first, his music the embodiment of his soulful spirit, sense of hope and his love for entertaining.

All the while, Tommy has hungered for what’s next. When you’re widely acknowledged as the international master of the solo acoustic guitar you are in demand which has led to collaborations with some of the finest singers, songwriters and, yes, guitarists alive today – a list including Jason Isbell, Mark Knopfler, Rodney Crowell, Jerry Douglas, Amanda Shires, Ricky Skaggs, J.D. Simo, David Grisman, Bryan Sutton, Suzy Bogguss and many more.

Special guest for the tour is Jerry Douglas, a winner of multiple Grammy awards and feature player in the Alison Krauss band, 'Dobro's matchless contemporary master' is a fantastically versatile and inventive instrumentalist, his unique bluegrass style securing his status as an American musician. Although famed for his part in numerous different acts, it is as a soloist that he stands out as a true visionary.

The ELO Tribute Show

The ELO Show - The World's greatest tribute to the music and Genius of Jeff Lynne and ELO

Local and international musician Brian Cummins brings his brand-new show celebrating the music of Jeff Lynne and E.L.O. with a band of amazing musicians including a female string section this will be a fabulous night of hit after hit from such a vast back catalogue.

Jeff Lynne and ELO famously carried on the legacy of the Beatles where in his own words he wanted to "Carry on from where I am the Walrus left off' and combined Classical music with motifs of the greats with Rock and Roll like no other musician before. The album 'Out of the Blue' released in 1977 catapulted them into Rock history and truly made them one of the biggest bands in the World at the time.

After many years of touring Jeff parted ways with the band to focus on producing some of the greatest musicians of the time namely, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Paul McCartney and The Beatles.

Jeff resurrected the ELO legacy in 2014 with a new line-up and a stunning stage show and has been touring the World Arenas and stadiums to this day.

The ELO SHOW has a stunning lightshow and 3D video screens very similar to Jeff's current backdrop.

Expect songs like, 'Evil Woman', Don't bring me down', 'Telephone Line', 'Sweet Talkin Woman', 'Turn to stone', 'Wild west Hero', 'The Diary of Horace Wimp' and of course the legendary 'Mr. Blue Sky' plus many more with a surprise or two.

Don't miss out on this fantastic night of nostalgia and classic tunes.

Geoff Norcott - I Blame the Parents

Saturday 19th March 2022, 7:30pm
All Tickets £16.75

Live Nation in association with Sophie Chapman Talent
Geoff Norcott: I Blame the Parents

For Ages 16+

‘I Blame the Parents’ is the fourth national tour for Geoff Norcott, following on the back of ‘Conswervative’, ‘Traditionalism’ and ‘Taking Liberties’. This time Geoff talks less politics (alright, there will probably be a bit), but this brand-new show will mostly explore personal responsibility, parenting and who should take the blame when things go wrong.

'Sets himself apart from the liberal commentariat with a sharp self-knowing wit ****' Dominic Maxwell, The Times

Whatever happened to the idea of personal responsibility? In the age of victimhood, it seems like whatever’s wrong with your life it can be blamed on someone else. Governments, employers… some bigot from four hundred years ago.

Where did it go wrong? It has to be the parents. Every generation there’s an opportunity for a new set of mums and dads to set their kids straight and make a stand against whatever trendy nonsense is currently doing the rounds. But do we? Or is it easier to give in to fear and the pursuit of a quiet life?

Geoff has realised he’s also a bag of contradictions. Raised on a south London council estate by two maverick parents, there’s plenty he has to sift through. His Dad was a trade union man who obsessed over stocks and shares. His mum was a closet chauvinist and far too frank on the subject of sex.

With a child of his own, Geoff spies a one-off chance for his family to finally get it right and produce a balanced human being, but can he filter out his own bollocks before it gets to his son?

Tickets £21.75

One of the UK's most successful Genesis tribute bands, Mama faithfully reproduce the sights and sounds of a high octane, contemporary Genesis rock concert with fantastic musicianship from acclaimed musicians.

Mama will take you on a journey from Genesis' early Peter Gabriel years, through the Phil Collins' era of the 70's and 80's and right up to their final studio album, 'We Can't Dance'.

Expect to hear Genesis classics, In The Cage Medley, Mama, Los Endos, Home By The Sea, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, Ripples and many more, with bonus tracks such as Follow You Follow Me, In The Air Tonight, Sledgehammer, No Son Of Mine, Land Of Confusion and Suppers Ready.

Lead singer, John Wilkinson, delivers the Phil Collins vocal sound with power, passion and precision. On keyboards, the band benefits from the technical wizardry of John Comish. Guitars are provided by Jon Vatikiotis, backed up with the rock solid technical playing of James Cooper on drums and Dave Jones on bass, 12 string guitar and bass pedals.

When asked about the show, John Wilkinson said, "The idea of a Mama show is to celebrate the music of Genesis by having a Genesis party. We are huge Genesis fans, just like our audience. DESPERATE SCOUSEWIVES 3 - Howdy, Neighbour!
Written by Lynne Fitzgerald.
18+ includes strong language and adult content.

Four ordinary Scouse woman, living in four ordinary Scouse house’s in the back streets of Liverpool.

Party vibes all around as Trisha from number 1 "I can't stand her" frantically prepares a Cowboy themed birthday party for her son Scouse Luke, already stressed and over whelmed, she has only gone and landed herself a place in the Stags Head karaoke final, on the same night "OMG I feel ashamed, can ugly people even sing?"

As per, bossy, nasty, loud mouthed Susan (Lynne Fitzgerald) from number 3, and her just as irritating, bitchy sidekick, Vanessa number 4, "Sly on us" revel in being more of a hindrance than a help.

Meanwhile busybody and ELDEST "She hates that" resident of the street, meddling Lily number 2, causes a whole string of outrageous and hilarious events as she decides to take over to ensure "in her words" the day runs smoothly "Lol like that's ever gonna happen!"Buckle up folks, you’re in for one hilarious night of entertainment.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ "If Mrs Brown's boys can create a huge audience there's no reason the Desperate Scousewives could not become a home grown hit" - Peter Grant Wirral Globe
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Write Base
⭐⭐⭐⭐ "What would you get if you crossed SHAMELESS with BENIDORM Lynne Fitzgeralds DESPERATE SCOUSEWIVES" - North West End

Frankie - The Concert

Thursday 21st April 2022, 7.30pm
All seats £26.25

Frankie - The Concert
is an unbelievably accurate and authentic celebration of legendary hall-of-famer’s Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

That famous Frankie-falsetto, along with those incredible four-part harmonies, are lovingly recreated with absolute respect, astonishing attention to detail and a genuine love for the music that dominated two decades!

Considered the closest portrayal of Frankie Valli amongst many in the industry, touring theatre star Stephen James (Let’s Hang On) has formed an undeniable reputation for recreating the powerful falsetto of the 60’s & 70’s icon with absolute perfection. Featuring a spectacular eight-piece band including live brass, this show is unique, bringing Frankie Valli’s music back to life with actual concert recreations, and a few surprises!

The first half of the show celebrates the sixties’ golden years; Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like A Man, Bye Bye Baby, Let’s Hang On, Silence Is Golden, Ragdoll and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You. The second half of the show, celebrating the resurgence of The Four Seasons’ in the seventies, includes the anthem December 63 (Oh What A Night), Who Loves You, Grease (is the word), The Night, Beggin’, My Eyes Adored You, Fallen Angel and many more.

If you can’t see the real thing, go see Frankie – The Concert!

“Best show we’ve ever seen” Four Seasons Memorabilia

Jason Manford: Like Me WORK IN PROGRESS

He’s back! It’s been a busy few years for Jason since his last smash-hit stand up show but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. ‘Like Me’ is Jason’s latest comic offering set to hit the road, and is sure to be ‘expert observational comedy’ (The Guardian) mixed with ‘comic gold’ (Mail on Sunday).

Jason said: “After the fun we had on my last tour ‘Muddle Class’, I’m excited to get back on the road with my new stand up show, ‘Like Me’. In these trying times it’s always important to be able to get away for a couple of hours and exercise the old chuckle muscle! So I’m coming to a venue near you in 2021 so we can have a good laugh together. See you then.”

‘First & Last’ (BBC One), ‘The Masked Singer’ (ITV1), ‘What Would Your Kid Do?’ (ITV1), ‘Olivier Awards’ (ITV1), ‘Scarborough’ (BBC One), ‘8 out of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4), ‘The Nightly Show’ (ITV1), ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’ (ITV1), ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC One), ‘Have I Got News For You’, (BBC One), QI (BBC Two) and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ (ITV1) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally known comic.

Their reputation has grown tremendously and they have had enormous success both within the US and Ireland.

The High Kings are charting a new course for Irish ballad music – equal parts rousing and reflective, energetic and insightful – is an understatement. They are, essentially, marking out a new and bright era for Irish folk music. Not to be missed.

ADAPTED BY ROB FENNAH - DIRECTED BY GARETH TUDOR PRICE
STAR STUDDED CAST FROM STAGE AND SCREEN TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON.

Adapted from Helen Forrester's million-selling autobiography, Twopence To Cross The Mersey is a stunning period drama set in the early 1930's in the midst of the Great Depression.

In 1931 Helen's spendthrift father was declared bankrupt, forcing the family to leave behind the nannies, servants, and beautiful middle-class home in the gentler Southwest of England.

With nothing more than the clothes they stood up in, the family of nine took the train to Liverpool where they hoped to rebuild their shattered lives. It came as a terrible shock to find the thriving, wealthy port Helen's father remembered as a boy, the place his own father made his fortune, had long since gone.

While 12-year-old Helen's inept parents searched unsuccessfully to find work, she was taken out of school to look after her six younger siblings and the full burden of keeping house fell on Helen's young shoulders.

Having never had to manage a family budget in their previous life, the Forrester's found themselves relying on meagre handouts from the local parish, charity organisations and the kindness of strangers.

But, at the age of 14, Helen had finally had enough of her miserable existence, and so began a bitter fight with her mother and father to attend evening school in an effort to educate herself and make her own way in the world.

But Helen's parents had no intention of releasing their unpaid slave. They had other plans for their selfish daughter.

What the media said about previous Twopence To Cross The Mersey productions:

"Absolutely Amazing" - BBC Radio 4
"The Theatrical Equivalent Of A Page Turner" - The Stage
"Emotional & Powerful" - British Theatre Guide
"A Brilliant Production - A Real Hit" - Cheshire Today

THIS IS AN EVENING OF PURE THEATRICAL VIAGRA

Our 2021 production stars Vicki Michelle (‘Allo ‘Allo!) and Vicky Entwistle (Coronation Street), Leah Bell completes the threesome.

Gladys, Olive and Elsie are three "vintage style" cleaning ladies who, threatened with redundancy, chance on an 'unconventional' way of earning some extra cash.

A wrong number requiring a Sex Chat Line rings into the office and gives them a great idea… “Why not start their own Sex Chat Line?” After all, their age and appearance won't matter on the telephone and providing they can keep this a secret from Dave, their boss... they could be onto a winner! What could possibly go wrong?

Written by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood, this production is directed by Leah Bell who injects this hilarious play with a fresh and lively approach coupled with her own unique comedic style.

Thanks to the timely intervention of the Lilac Fairy, she doesn’t die, but sleeps for a hundred years. Woken by a prince, who has battled through the Enchanted Forest to reach her, they marry at a ceremony attended by nursery rhyme characters like Puss in Boots and all the other forest creatures.

There are no scores more successful in supporting the full range of ballet than those by Tchaikovsky.
Highlights include the Famous ‘Rose Adagio’ when Princess Aurora is introduced to four princes. This ravishing production of the Sleeping Beauty is certain to leave you refreshed, relaxed and alert. It shimmers like an exquisite dream.

Sleeping Beauty is a ballet that the whole family can enjoy!

“A big sweeping story of real emotion!”
THE STAGE

A STAR-STUDDED CAST FROM STAGE AND SCREEN TO BE CONFIRMED SOON

Adapted from Helen Forrester’s million-selling book, By The Waters Of Liverpool is a stunning period drama set in the 1930s. The story opens in 1935. Helen is sixteen years old and fighting a bitter battle with her parents for the right to educate herself and go out to work. During the Great Depression, Helen’s father lost his fortune when the stock market crashed and the family were suddenly thrown into poverty. Leaving behind the nannies, servants and comfortable middle-class life in the South West of England, the Forrester’s chose Liverpool as the place to start over.

They were in for a terrible shock. Taken out of school to care for her younger brothers and sisters while her parents struggled to re-build their shattered lives, Helen is treated as an unpaid slave and desperate to escape. By 1939, now aged twenty and with Britain on the brink of war, she has still never been kissed by a man. But things start looking up for Helen when she meets a tall strong seaman and falls in love.

“By The Waters Of Liverpool also features flashbacks to Helen’s earlier books Liverpool Miss and Twopence To Cross The Mersey. I’ve even weaved in a storyline from Helen’s fourth autobiography, Lime Street At Two. That way those unfamiliar with Helen’s work still get a complete picture of her life”. Rob Fennah ~ Playwright and friend of Helen Forrester.

Fully authorised by the Helen Forrester estate.
