UPDATE: TUESDAY 17 MARCH

Floral Pavilion Theatre to close temporarily

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Monday 16 March, advising people to avoid non-essential contact with others including visits to theatres as part of measures to tackle the coronavirus, the Floral Pavilion theatre is to be closed with immediate effect from today, Tuesday March 17.

The temporary closure of the theatre in New Brighton is part of the Council’s wider preparations to focus resources and staff on to the most critical services relied upon by residents.

Please can we ask that you not contact the box office regarding tickets you may have purchased. We will contact customers with information regarding all performances in the coming weeks. Hopefully the majority of performances will be rescheduled but where this is not possible we will be organising a full refund.

Cabinet member for community services, Cllr Julie McManus, said:

“It is crucial that we ensure our most vital services are able to continue, and this is one of the first steps we will be taking.

"The coming weeks and months are going to be difficult for everyone, and we are all going to have to work in different ways and adapt. We are also going to have to take into account the likelihood that many staff will be affected by the virus either directly or having to self isolate because a family members is showing symptoms.

"We apologise for the disruption and uncertainty but the health and safety of our audiences, staff and visiting companies is our first priority. We will be posting further statements over the coming days so please check our website and social media as we are unsure how long these measures will need to last.

"Thank you for your support during this difficult time and we will update you when further information is available to us."

UPDATE: MONDAY 16 MARCH

St Mary's School Of Rock - All performances related to St Mary's School of Rock have been cancelled with the intention to reschedule the show. A member of the box office will be in touch with all ticket holders in the coming week.

Lucinda Williams

Tuesday 17th August 2021, 7:30pm
Rescheduled from Tuesday 18th August 2020
All Seats £29.25

“It’s all come full circle,” says Lucinda Williams about her powerful new album, Good Souls. Better Angels. After more than forty years of music making, the pioneering, Louisiana-born artist has returned to the gritty blues foundation that first inspired her as a young singer-songwriter in the late 1970s.

After spending the last year on her sold-out 'Car Wheels on a Gravel Road' 20th Anniversary tour, Williams has reunited with that game-changing 1998 album’s co-producer and engineer Ray Kennedy, recording Good Souls, Better Angels with her ace touring band at his Nashville studio. Joining them as co-producer is Williams’ manager Tom Overby, to whom she’s been married for a decade and who contributed lyrics to her masterful songcraft. 'That’s what I always dreamed of – a relationship with someone I could create with', Williams enthuses.

The result – Good Souls, Better Angels – is the most topical album of Williams’ career. From the driving blues of the opening track You Can’t Rule Me to the ominous gothic Pray the Devil Back to Hell, from punk-blues-fuelled Bone of Contention to fire ‘n brimstone Drop by Drop (Big Rotator), Williams has never been more raw and direct, with gut-punching wordplay crossing the Good Book with hip-hop with Ginsbergian beat poetry.

Giving voice to all her experience, Williams ends Good Souls, Better Angels with the luminous Good Souls,  one of the last songs written for the album. It is a deeply moving invocation: “Keep me with all of those/who help me find strength/when I’m feeling hopeless/who guide me along/And help me stay strong and fearless.”

Rescheduled from Thu 24th June 2021

All Tickets £21.75
Recommended Ages 14+

Phil McIntyre Live ltd, by arrangement with Lisa Thomas Management Proudly presents:
Jason Manford: Like Me WORK IN PROGRESS

He’s back! It’s been a busy few years for Jason since his last smash-hit stand up show but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. ‘Like Me’ is Jason’s latest comic offering set to hit the road, and is sure to be ‘expert observational comedy’ (The Guardian) mixed with ‘comic gold’ (Mail on Sunday).

Jason said: “After the fun we had on my last tour ‘Muddle Class’, I’m excited to get back on the road with my new stand up show, ‘Like Me’. In these trying times it’s always important to be able to get away for a couple of hours and exercise the old chuckle muscle! So I’m coming to a venue near you in 2021 so we can have a good laugh together. See you then.”

‘First & Last’ (BBC One), ‘The Masked Singer’ (ITV1), ‘What Would Your Kid Do?’ (ITV1), ‘Olivier Awards’ (ITV1), ‘Scarborough’ (BBC One), ‘8 out of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4), ‘The Nightly Show’ (ITV1), ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’ (ITV1), ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC One), ‘Have I Got News For You’, (BBC One), QI (BBC Two) and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ (ITV1) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally known comic.

"Effortlessly entertaining" **** Evening Standard
"He's blessed with the sort of laid-back charm and sharp turn of phrase you can't manufacture" **** Daily Telegraph

All Above Board
Monday 23rd to Wednesday 25th August 2021, 7:30pm
Matinee performance on Wednesday 25th August, 2:30pm

All Tickets £23.75

Chaos reigns in this brand-new farce of mistaken identities and disastrous decisions from the witty pen of star of stage and screen, Nigel Planer (The Young Ones, The Comic Strip Presents, Blackadder, Death in Paradise).

An unlikely bunch of modern-day do-gooders try to make the world a better place, but lose the plot, their morals and even their clothes in all the best traditions of classic British farce.

Timothy has quit the world of banking and now - for all the wrong reasons – wants to give something back and help those less fortunate. Along with his brazen and shameless PR agent, he plans a charity auction to raise money for good causes. He misguidedly enlists the help of narcissist TV personality, Matthew Board – a man clearly on the edge in more ways than one. Matters are made worse by Sir Ommany John, a geriatric world-famous artist who still has an eye for the ladies; Katia, a confused Finnish exchange student and not to mention Timothy’s crazed ex-wife who is out for revenge…and will the plasterer ever turn up?

The doors slam and the double entendres flow and with more misunderstandings and mayhem than you can shake a charity collection box at, this play will have you in stitches and make you question if things really are, All Above Board.

The world premiere of this hilarious production will take place in New Brighton on the 23rd August and then it goes on tour to venues up and down the UK.

'Don’t ask me... It’s All Above Board!'

MAMA Presents… An Evening of Genesis Music Live
Friday 27th August 2021, 7:30pm
Tickets £21.75

One of the UK's most successful Genesis tribute bands, Mama faithfully reproduce the sights and sounds of a high octane, contemporary Genesis rock concert with fantastic musicianship from acclaimed musicians.

Mama will take you on a journey from Genesis' early Peter Gabriel years, through the Phil Collins' era of the 70's and 80's and right up to their final studio album, 'We Can't Dance'.

Expect to hear Genesis classics, In The Cage Medley, Mama, Los Endos, Home By The Sea, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, Ripples and many more, with bonus tracks such as Follow You Follow Me, In The Air Tonight, Sledgehammer, No Son Of Mine, Land Of Confusion and Suppers Ready.

Lead singer, John Wilkinson, delivers the Phil Collins vocal sound with power, passion and precision. On keyboards, the band benefits from the technical wizardry of John Comish. Guitars are provided by Jon Vatikiotis, backed up with the rock solid technical playing of James Cooper on drums and Dave Jones on bass, 12 string guitar and bass pedals.

When asked about the show, John Wilkinson said, "The idea of a Mama show is to celebrate the music of Genesis by having a Genesis party. We are huge Genesis fans, just like our audience. It’s great to meet so many likeminded Genesis fans as we tour the UK year after year. They know what they like!"

THIS IS AN EVENING OF PURE THEATRICAL VIAGRA

Our 2021 production stars Vicki Michelle (‘Allo ‘Allo!) and Vicky Entwistle (Coronation Street), Leah Bell completes the threesome.

Gladys, Olive and Elsie are three "vintage style" cleaning ladies who, threatened with redundancy, chance on an 'unconventional' way of earning some extra cash.

A wrong number requiring a Sex Chat Line rings into the office and gives them a great idea… “Why not start their own Sex Chat Line?” After all, their age and appearance won't matter on the telephone and providing they can keep this a secret from Dave, their boss... they could be onto a winner! What could possibly go wrong?

Written by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood, this production is directed by Leah Bell who injects this hilarious play with a fresh and lively approach coupled with her own unique comedic style.

All prices advertised include a booking fee. No fees to Friends of the Floral. A postage fee may apply.

Daniel Sloss: HUBRiS

Tuesday 28th September 2021, 7:30pm
All Tickets £20.25

Live Nation & MZA present
DANIEL SLOSS: HUBRiS

Warning: contains adult themes and strong language. Strictly 16+

Daniel Sloss: HUBRiS is the all-new, 11th solo show by Scotland’s international comedy superstar. Fresh from his 2021 Australian tour which spanned 32 shows in 30 days to over 40,000 people and hot on the heels of his previous show – the ground-breaking, global smash-hit 'Daniel Sloss: X' (where he performed an astonishing 300 performances across 40 countries even including an arena in Moscow) - HUBRiS is currently the largest indoor event of any genre on the planet and we are delighted to welcome it to The Floral

Lauded by the ancient Greeks, hubris is the devastating, dangerous and of course exciting character trait that often led to the hero’s downfall. So, how does one of the world’s hottest stand-ups follow up on an extraordinary show like 'X' (dealing with sexual assault), or two Netflix specials streaming in 190 countries: 'DARK' (about grieving) & 'Jigsaw' (credited with over 120,000 breakups and cited in over 300 divorces with fans even bringing their decree nisi’s for him to autograph at shows)? With a phenomenal new show that doesn’t have a theme or a twist or require any trigger warnings.

Daniel Sloss: HUBRiS is the next chapter in this Odyssey.

Having started in comedy aged just 17, to date, Daniel has sold out six New York solo off-Broadway seasons (selling up to 5,000 tickets in a run), made 10 appearances on US TV’s Conan, broken box office records at the world’s biggest arts festival, the Edinburgh Fringe (where he has already sold out 11 solo seasons and where 2021 is his 12th and is the first post-pandemic Fringe show on sale), and has to date, toured in 50 countries, the most of any comedian working to today. Marvel made him into one of their heroes and his book “EVERYONE YOU HATE IS GOING TO DIE And Other Comforting Thoughts on Family, Friends, Sex, Love, and More Things That Ruin Your Life” will be published on 12th October 2021 by Penguin Random House.

"Dirty, sweet and clever" (New York Times)
"Brilliant!… Smouldering… Deliciously dark stand-up" ★★★★★ (Mail on Sunday)
"Hilarious… Devastatingly intelligent… Sloss is a festival highlight. See him" ★★★★★ (Age, Australia)
"Dazzling wit… Unstoppable" (Daily Telegraph)
"Simply world class…Sloss skilfully weaves sensitive subject matter into a hilarious tapestry… intelligently and ironically calling out the hypocrisy of human nature" ★★★★★ (Herald Sun, Australia)
"Sloss is at the top of his game… exciting and powerful… Challenging and controversial… a master craftsman and a truly edgy stand-up star with his finger very much on the pulse… Brilliant!" (Time Out)

The Adventures of The Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen

Tuesday 26th October 2021, 7:30pm
Rescheduled from Mon 17th May 2021

All Seats £20.25

In this frank, funny and informative new show, Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen shares heart-warming tales and honest anecdotes from her remarkable farming, family life in North Yorkshire. It's a life that has almost gone in today's modern world, one ruled by animals and the four seasons.

We’ll hear how Amanda grew up in Huddersfield, but was inspired by James Herriot’s books to leave her town life behind and head to the countryside. After working as a freelance dairy milker and alpaca shearer, she eventually settled down as a shepherdess at Ravenseat, one of the highest and most remote places in England, where she’s raised a flock of 1000 sheep and a family of 9 children with husband Clive.

Accompanied by some of Amanda's wonderful photography we’ll experience the highs and lows of the farming year, which in 2018 included the extremes of the Beast from the East and one of the hottest summers on record. Ravenseat is a tenant farm and may not stay in the family, so when Amanda saw a nearby farmhouse up for sale, she knew it was her chance to create roots for the next generation. The old house needed a lot of renovation and money was tight, but with her usual resourcefulness Amanda set about the work herself, with some help from the family, a visiting plumber and a travelling monk. It's fair to say things did not go according to plan.

We’ll hear how Amanda juggles life as a shepherdess, home renovator and mother to 9 children, with life as a best-selling author and being taken to the nation’s hearts with the Channel 5 hit series ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’. Funny, charming and filled with unforgettable characters, ‘Adventures of the Yorkshire Shepherdess' will delight anyone who has dreamt of a new life in the country.

Clinton Baptiste goes Stratospheric!
Sunday 31st October 2021, 7:30pm
All Tickets £23.25
Over 14s only

From Bolton via Vegas... to the stars!

Following the massive success of his last UK tour, clairvoyant medium and psychic Clinton Baptiste has gone exploring, stateside.

Not quite Caesar’s Palace but a series of shows in Vegas have lifted his celebrity status up a notch. Let him take you on a journey from his humble roots via the dazzling heights of Sin City...
...and on to an amazing finale that will heal the world.

Viva Las Vegas... Viva Clinton!

Clinton Baptiste is the hapless, unsubtle psychic from Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights. Following his sell out tour of 2019-20 "The Paranormalist Returns", Clinton has taken a whirlwind tour of the US. Hear his tales of rubbing shoulders with the hippy dippy new-agers from La La Land and how he hits the big time in Vegas with his lavish psychic show. For a while things couldn’t be better. A new lease of life, new teeth, new hair and a buttock lift. (Both of them.) But a humbly spiritual man at heart, Clinton realises that sometimes all that glitters ain’t gold and now returns to you, his beloved British audience to once again conjure up those pure selfless gifts he was born with.

For tonight, ladies and gentlemen, Clinton will all cast fame and fortune aside... and heal the world!

"From the moment Lowe dances onto the stage the audience absolutely loves his show." BRUCE DESSAU
"unashamedly crowdpleasing" BEYOND THE JOKE
"old-fashioned comedy at its best." British Theatre Guide
"I would highly recommend grabbing a ticket. Seats are selling fast and you certainly won’t be disappointed with this great evening of comedy." British Theatre Guide

The Russian State Ballet and Opera House presents Sleeping Beauty
Tuesday 2nd November 2021, 7:30pm
Rescheduled from Wed 11th Nov 2020
Tickets £36.00 (£34.00 conc)

The Russian State Ballet and Opera House presents
Sleeping Beauty – a spectacular fairy-tale

Every child’s favourite fairy-tale, Sleeping Beauty is the classic story of love and innocence, mystery and magic set to Tchaikovsky’s sublime score.

Featuring a live Orchestra with over 30 musicians, stunning choreography, sumptuous costumes and wonderful sets form the fantasy world in which the Lilac Fairy struggles against the evil Carabosse. The outline is based on the fairy-tale by Charles Perrault and tells the story of the Princess Aurora, cursed at her christening by the evil Carabosse to prick her finger one day on a spindle and die.

Thanks to the timely intervention of the Lilac Fairy, she doesn’t die, but sleeps for a hundred years. Woken by a prince, who has battled through the Enchanted Forest to reach her, they marry at a ceremony attended by nursery rhyme characters like Puss in Boots and all the other forest creatures.

There are no scores more successful in supporting the full range of ballet than those by Tchaikovsky.
Highlights include the Famous ‘Rose Adagio’ when Princess Aurora is introduced to four princes. This ravishing production of the Sleeping Beauty is certain to leave you refreshed, relaxed and alert. It shimmers like an exquisite dream.

Sleeping Beauty is a ballet that the whole family can enjoy!

BY THE WATERS OF LIVERPOOL

The Stage

FEATURING A STAR-STUDDED CAST FROM STAGE AND SCREEN
Mark Moraghan, Sian Reeves, Parry Glasspool, Lucy Dixon & Eric Potts
join Lynn Francis, Danny O'Brien, Roy Carruthers and Chloe McDonald.
Adapted from Helen Forrester’s million-selling book, By The Waters Of Liverpool is a stunning period drama set in the 1930s. The story opens in 1935. Helen is sixteen years old and fighting a bitter battle with her parents for the right to educate herself and go out to work. During the Great Depression, Helen’s father lost his fortune when the stock market crashed and the family were suddenly thrown into poverty. Leaving behind the nannies, servants and comfortable middle-class life in the South West of England, the Forrester’s chose Liverpool as the place to start over. They were in for a terrible shock. Taken out of school to care for her younger brothers and sisters while her parents struggled to re-build their shattered lives, Helen is treated as an unpaid slave and desperate to escape. By 1939, now aged twenty and with Britain on the brink of war, she has still never been kissed by a man. But things start looking up for Helen when she meets a tall strong seaman and falls in love.
“By The Waters Of Liverpool also features flashbacks to Helen’s first two volumes of autobiography; Twopence To Cross The Mersey and Liverpool Miss, so newcomers to Helen’s story will get a complete picture of her life”.
Rob Fennah ~ Playwright and friend of Helen Forrester.

Fully authorised by the Helen Forrester estate.

Named by the Guinness Book of Records as 'the world’s greatest living explorer', Sir Ranulph Fiennes has spent his life in pursuit of extreme adventure, risking life and limb in some of the most ambitious private expeditions ever undertaken.

In Living Dangerously, Sir Ranulph offers a personal journey through his life, from his early years to the present day. Both light-hearted and strikingly poignant, Living Dangerously spans Sir Ranulph’s childhood and school misdemeanours, his army life and early expeditions, right through the Transglobe Expedition to his current Global Reach Challenge - his goal to become the first person in the world to cross both polar ice caps and climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents.

BOOTLEG BLONDIE is the world’s No.1 official Debbie Harry & Blondie tribute band

Established in 2001 this band are the only Blondie tribute to play the legendary CBGB in New York City before it's demise in 2006 and unique in that not only have they had the honour to be thanked on Blondie’s 11th album Pollinator but have actually played not one but two tours in the UK with Blondie’s legendary drummer Clem Burke, under the band name CBBB (Clem Burke & Bootleg Blondie).

Debbie and the boys have met the REAL Blondie many times. Debbie Harry wished them good luck with their show for their gig at CBGB NYC back in 2006 and when Andy and Debbie got married they received two video messages from both Blondie and Debbie Harry herself congratulating them on their wedding day. What a Blondietastic wedding present!

Debbie Harris, lead vocalist of Bootleg Blondie, has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blondie bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage. She has been known to wear dustbin liners, thigh length boots and t-shirts with more holes than t-shirt!  Debbie's pride and joy is her guitar which she plays at every show and is signed by all the Blondie band members. She appeared recently in the Mail On Sunday EVENT Magazine and performed on two shows for BBC1 when she was picked out of 15,000 applicants to represent Debbie Harry on ‘Even Better Than The Real Thing’ hosted by Paddy McGuinness which attracted an audience of 10 million viewers!

Lloyd Cole: From Rattlesnakes to Guesswork tour

Tuesday 8th February 2022, 7:30pm
All Tickets £29.25

Lloyd Cole brings his latest tour From Rattlesnakes to Guesswork to New Brighton.

In 1990 Lloyd launched a solo career and has been making albums ever since. In the early 2000s Cole retreated somewhat from rock/pop, performing mostly acoustically, but his 2013 album Standards took fans, critics, and maybe even the artist himself, aback with its brash electric rock ‘n’ roll sound.

This show will present music from Lloyd’s back catalogue, starting with Rattlesnakes in 1984, right up to his latest album Guesswork.

His latest album, Guesswork, mirrors the uncertainty of the world as you enter your third act and is consistent with a record whose protagonists seem reluctant to venture confidently beyond the moment.

Thursday 10th February 2022, 8:00pm
Rescheduled from Thu 25th Feb 2021
Tickets £34.25

Following a remarkable recovery from a diagnosis of terminal cancer, Wilko Johnson the original Dr Feelgood guitarist, actor (Game of Thrones character Ser Ilyn Payne) and all round national treasure has enjoyed a rousing return to the live arena, including a number 1 album with Roger Daltrey (Going Back Home), a sold out show at The Royal Albert Hall to mark his 70th birthday and, most recently, the release of Blow Your Mind, his first album of new material in decades.

Wilko is famed for his blistering chop-chord strumming action (the 'stab', as he describes it), a technique inspired by his admiration of the late Pirates guitarist Mick Green. With this electrifying sound, his trademark black-suited, scowling look and his characteristic strut, Wilko became one of the guitar heroes of the 1970s and beyond, not to mention on of rock 'n' roll's most extraordinary characters. He, alongside his original Feelgood bandmates, is also widely acknowledged as a forefather of punk on both sides of the Atlantic, fans ranging from Joe Strummer to Blondie.

Following a stint with Ian Dury & The Blockheads in the 1980s, he formed the Wilko Johnson Band, with Blockheads bassist Norman Watt-Roy. Featuring former Blockhead Dylan Howe on drums, the trio is known as one of the most exciting R'n'B bands in the world today.

Special guest 'Rock and Roll's Greatest Failure John Otway.

Tommy Emmanuel plus special guest Jerry Douglas
Thursday 10th March 2022, 7:30pm
Rescheduled from Sat 6th March 2021
Tickets from £29.25 to £39.25

If you like guitar playing, it simply doesn’t get any better than Tommy Emmanuel.

Tommy has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. Or at least they would if he was the kind of artist who was ever satisfied. At the age of six, he was touring regional Australia with his family band. By 30, he was a rock n’ roll lead guitarist burning up stadiums in Europe. At 44, he became one of five people ever named a Certified Guitar Player by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins. Today, he plays hundreds of sold-out shows every year from Nashville to Sydney to London. While thousands of fans have spent years trying to unpack and imitate Tommy’s technique, for him it’s just the delivery system. His approach is always song and emotion first, his music the embodiment of his soulful spirit, sense of hope and his love for entertaining.

All the while, Tommy has hungered for what’s next. When you’re widely acknowledged as the international master of the solo acoustic guitar you are in demand which has led to collaborations with some of the finest singers, songwriters and, yes, guitarists alive today – a list including Jason Isbell, Mark Knopfler, Rodney Crowell, Jerry Douglas, Amanda Shires, Ricky Skaggs, J.D. Simo, David Grisman, Bryan Sutton, Suzy Bogguss and many more.

Special guest for the tour is Jerry Douglas, a winner of multiple Grammy awards and feature player in the Alison Krauss band, 'Dobro's matchless contemporary master' is a fantastically versatile and inventive instrumentalist, his unique bluegrass style securing his status as an American musician. Although famed for his part in numerous different acts, it is as a soloist that he stands out as a true visionary.

The ELO Tribute Show

The ELO Show - The World's greatest tribute to the music and Genius of Jeff Lynne and ELO

Local and international musician Brian Cummins brings his brand-new show celebrating the music of Jeff Lynne and E.L.O. with a band of amazing musicians including a female string section this will be a fabulous night of hit after hit from such a vast back catalogue.

Jeff Lynne and ELO famously carried on the legacy of the Beatles where in his own words he wanted to "Carry on from where I am the Walrus left off' and combined Classical music with motifs of the greats with Rock and Roll like no other musician before. The album 'Out of the Blue' released in 1977 catapulted them into Rock history and truly made them one of the biggest bands in the World at the time.

After many years of touring Jeff parted ways with the band to focus on producing some of the greatest musicians of the time namely, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Paul McCartney and The Beatles.

Jeff resurrected the ELO legacy in 2014 with a new line-up and a stunning stage show and has been touring the World Arenas and stadiums to this day.

The ELO SHOW has a stunning lightshow and 3D video screens very similar to Jeff's current backdrop.

Expect songs like, 'Evil Woman', Don't bring me down', 'Telephone Line', 'Sweet Talkin Woman', 'Turn to stone', 'Wild west Hero', 'The Diary of Horace Wimp' and of course the legendary 'Mr. Blue Sky' plus many more with a surprise or two.

Don't miss out on this fantastic night of nostalgia and classic tunes.

Written by Lynne Fitzgerald.
18+ includes strong language and adult content.

Four ordinary Scouse woman, living in four ordinary Scouse house’s in the back streets of Liverpool.

Party vibes all around as Trisha from number 1 "I can't stand her" frantically prepares a Cowboy themed birthday party for her son Scouse Luke, already stressed and over whelmed, she has only gone and landed herself a place in the Stags Head karaoke final, on the same night "OMG I feel ashamed, can ugly people even sing?"

As per, bossy, nasty, loud mouthed Susan (Lynne Fitzgerald) from number 3, and her just as irritating, bitchy sidekick, Vanessa number 4, "Sly on us" revel in being more of a hindrance than a help.

Meanwhile busybody and ELDEST "She hates that" resident of the street, meddling Lily number 2, causes a whole string of outrageous and hilarious events as she decides to take over to ensure "in her words" the day runs smoothly "Lol like that's ever gonna happen!"Buckle up folks, you’re in for one hilarious night of entertainment.

Legends of Irish music & song The FUREYS, renowned for their hit songs 'I Will Love You', 'When You Were Sweet 16', 'The Green Fields of France', 'The Old Man', 'Red Rose Café', 'From Clare to Here', 'Her Father Didn't Like Me Anyway', 'Leaving Nancy', 'Steal Away' etc return for their 9th concert on Friday 5th March.

The FUREYS have been entertaining audiences worldwide for 43 years, audiences that have included former Australian Prime Minister John Howard, Former Irish President Mary McAleese and the late Pope John Paul while Tony Blair has publicly stated his favourite peace song of all time is the FUREYS 'Green Fields of France' and President Michael D Higgins attended their last concert in National Concert Hall.

The oldest of the brothers, Eddie Furey left home in 1966 and travelled to Scotland at the time of the great folk revival where he shared accommodation with then unknown folk singers Billy Connolly, Gerry Rafferty and Alex Campbell. In 1969 with his brother Finbar, he was the special guest for the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem throughout the USA and Canada. In 1971 he moved to mainland Europe where he toured for seven years. Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics has credited Eddie with teaching him his first chords on guitar when they met up in the North East of England while Dave was still a teenager.

For Steve Harley, life on the road is more than just a job: it is almost his life’s blood.

And with the January 2020 release of the all-acoustic CD, Uncovered, the original Cockney Rebel shows no sign of slowing down.

Steve has been playing Live shows around the world for over 45 years and the thrill of another night in another place to another audience has not dimmed at all. 'We have real adventures on tour' says Steve. 'I've seen the Northern Lights, the Midnight Sun and dozens of wonderful galleries, museums and great cities, all on my down-time. I have a great life as a Wandering Minstrel!'.

Uncovered includes a re-recording of Steve’s popular song Love, Compared With You, with a newly composed third verse, plus eleven other songs he’s always wanted to perform. The album features Barry Wickens on viola and acoustic guitar, Oli Hayhurst on double bass, Tom Hall on percussion and the Roots Music Legend, Martin Simpson, on guitar. Steve also sings a duet with the amazing Scottish singer, Eddi Reader.

The acoustic sets for 2020 will include songs from the new CD, plus a selection from the vast and eclectic Harley Songbook. Mr Soft, Judy Teen, Sebastian and the legendary Make Me Smile will all be re-produced in the unique acoustic style.

'It was an intimate night in the presence of a great musician. An individual whose passion for live performance and perfection (it shows in his face) remains undiminished' Close Up Culture

Rod Stewart, who covered Steve’s song A Friend For Life, describes him as 'one of the finest lyricists Britain has produced'.

'Harley creates rock songs that are proud, lyrical and full of yearning'. MOJO
